Shailesh Vara MP presented the cups and trophies this weekend at the Ramsey and District Garden Club’s Annual Garden Show, hosted at the Ramsey Rural Museum.
This annual event sees participants entering their best items for judging in several different categories including best hanging baskets, fruit, misshapen vegetables, preserves and many more.
Many people joined Garden Club members at this enjoyable community event, with numerous entries submitted.
Mr Vara said: “It’s always a delight to come and join the local community in Ramsey and help present the awards to all of the deserving winners. The effort that the participants go to is very impressive and what is particularly good about this event is that it appeals to different levels of ability, in many different categories.”
Ian Gaunt, Chairman of the Ramsey and District Garden Club added “It was a very good show this year with lots of entries and entrants taking part. I am particularly pleased that there were many entries from non-members of the club which meant that it was much more of a community event. A large number of people attended in the afternoon and enjoyed the entries, auction of produce and presentation of awards from Shailesh Vara MP.”
