One of three Young Conservatives from North West Cambridgeshire elected to the city council in May 2021, Nicolle celebrated her 22nd birthday just days before polling day. She joins councillors Mohammed Farooq and John Howard in representing the fast-growing ward of Hargate and Hempsted, where she is a governor at Hargate Primary School.
Campaigning while completing her politics degree course at the University of East Anglia (UEA), she was determined to live up to her predecessor, the late Cllr Janet Goodwin who was a much-loved figure in the local community. Pandemic lockdowns meant she was able to study remotely from home, which enabled her to manage her time effectively.
Nicolle's special interests include the environment, which led her to submit a detailed paper to the government's Environmental Audit Committee inquiry into 'green jobs' and their role in meeting the demands of sustainable post-COVID recovery.
