A Message from Hargate and Hempsted Conservative Candidate, John Howard
I have yet to have the honour of serving as a City Councillor, however, I hope with your support I will be able to represent you. Some candidates will appear just a few months before the election, but I hope you have confidence that I have been a very active member and resident of our community for many years.
Through my efforts as a local resident, my work with the Parish Council, or my volunteering as a member of the Conservative Action team, I have always been pro-active, and this will continue. I’ve worked and progressed within the same company I started working for 20 years ago, through my loyalty and hard work. These values I will bring into my Council work should I be elected. As well as being a resident, I am also a new father, so I too will be using the local schools and nurseries and I want to make sure our area is the best place to live for us and our families. I’m a member of Yaxley Runners and fundraise for Alzheimer’s Society, you might see me running around the ward when I’m not walking around it!
I already have met some truly amazing people in our community, residents who volunteer, people with visions, and this really motivates me to want to become your next Councillor. I promise to always engage with local residents to ensure we’re serving you the best possible way and I look forward to working hard, in partnership with our Conservative Councillors Janet Goodwin and Mohammed Farooq to deliver the best for our community.
My top three priorities for the ward:
1 WORKING FOR THE COMMUNITY
Representing people means I need to be proactive in engaging with the community. I will continue working with community groups, charities and schools to hear their views.
2 CLEANING UP OUR STREETS
Improving the streetscene by working with local police and environmental enforcement officers. I am pushing for stronger fines against those responsible for littering and flytipping.
3 LISTENING TO YOUR VIEWS
Speaking with residents is the only way to understand the issues that we face across the area. I am conducting residents surveys to make sure I am working hard on the issues that effect residents most.
Yours sincerely
John Howard
